About Amanda & Pat
Amanda and Pat come to you through these pages with open hearts and hands. We are two normal people from quite different backgrounds that have found common ground with our experience of our own humanity as individuals and in our interactions with others. While the United States and United Kingdom (our respective countries of origin) may be accurately described as “individualistic cultures”, we maintain a deep belief in the existence and value of shared community. We believe that the things that happen to us as individuals undoubtedly impacts everyone else with whom we are undeniably and inextricably connected to. As one of our favorite commentators states “If you do not transform your pain you WILL transmit it”. Transmission occurs from one to another – The “other” is our children, siblings, friends, neighbors, colleagues – our communities. Pat and Amanda have both transformed a lot of pain. We’ve rambled thru our own brambles, got scratched up, lost, angry, felt shame and anguish – and found some awesome fruit along the way. We want to share the fruit – the wisdom of the journey – with you.
